New ReviewerI am very surprised that Kwikset has such a poor design. I purchased a Kwikset Juno entry *** and deadbolt and installed it today.
If your door opens from the left from the inside, the key will have to be inserted upside down in the doorknob. If the *** is paired with their deadbolt in a set, one keyhole will be oriented upright and the other upside down. Not convenient when trying to open your doors especially at night. Who wants to try to remember which doors in the house need the key inserted upside down to open them?
I had to search Youtube for a solution which was not provided in their instructions. The *** had to be taken completely apart and reassembled.
This turned my 15 minute lock change into a 2 hour PITA. I broke one of the tabs on the part containing the keyhole and now it doesn't fit tightly to the *** making it more susceptible to the elements and to break ins.
User's recommendation: Think carefully before purchase about whether you want to deal with this hassle.
Monetary Loss: $37.
Preferred solution: Replacement.
Kwikset Pros: Smartkey.
Kwikset Cons: Problematic product design.
