Issue with Customer Service
Unable to talk with a customer service rep. Got a message that was incomplete and then was disconnected.
YouTube resolved my problem with installation.
All is well. The lock is working as designed.

I purchased a Smart Lock Halo from Home Depot approximately 11 months ago, and I have recently noticed some issues that are concerning me. The number 2 on the keypad is not responding properly, and the screen already shows visible marks and scratches, which makes me believe the display material may be more fragile than expected.
Considering the short period of use and the importance of having a reliable smart lock for home security, I kindly ask what can be done to resolve this matter. I believe this product should perform better and remain in good condition for longer, especially given the investment.
I would greatly appreciate your support in finding a solution, whether it be through repair, replacement, or another form of assistance.

Multiple defective units
I recently (11/25) purchased a Smartcode 917, installed it and coded it. It worked for a day and then the 9V battery that came with it died - though Kwikset claims the battery will last up to 3 years.
Right! I replaced the battery and again, the replacement was dead within a day. I uninstalled original and purchased new unit and same problem. Called Kwikset and after being on hold for about an hour, was able to warranty the Smartcode 917 and they sent a new unit.
I didn't bother messing with it but I did take it back and got a full refund, so net out of pocket is currently 0 - but I have to again uninstall the defective Kwikset and this time I'm going with Schlage. And in the meantime, as the unit failed, I can't open my door from the outside because of the battery issue.
Quite annoying and inconvenient. Caveat emptor!

I spoke with the agent and sent pictures of my Kwikset lock.
She was supposed to send me a new lock. This was months ago.

I can't access my account
3 days ago I was logged out. I reset my password a couple times but i still cannot login to the account

This company will not provide an email address and I can see why. A bad company that makes bad products Assa Abloy owned Swedish group. I have been locked out but never locked in.

I didnt know that Kwikset door knobs have a lifetime warranty, and over the years Ive had to replace them because they would break but didnt know about the warranty. So this time I called them because my doorknob is not working correctly and they said they would send me out a new one immediately!

Bolt lock is sticking

Step one requires me to call a 800 number that disconnects in the menu tree every time a human is required like they are out of business. I cant have a lock from a company that isn't professional.
disgusting. I'm not good enough to be able to contact them. not chat, nothing.
I'm returning the lock those jerks made no matter how good it was because the corporation is incompetent. A front door lock that connects to the home network requires better than this for sure!

Internal handle us wobbly. Need to know how to remove to be able to tighten screws
I believe the inset screw that needs to be removed to tighten the door handle is stripped as i cant move it counterclockwise at all yet the 3/32 Allen wrench turns. What do I do to get this off?
I have tried using an elastic band, rubber glove and cant unscrew.
Help. I dont want to have to saw the whole door ensemble etc off.

I have purchased several of the subject padlocks from Amazon and am very pleased with the product. I decided to order some more and discovered they were out of stock.
Called Kwikset Customer Service this morning and learned that the Smartkey padlocks are no longer available. Im very disappointed that such a great product (as far as Im concerned) is no longer available.
Trying not to be nosy but am very curious as to why the product was discontinued.
I wish I had known about their existence earlier as I would have purchased more of them. To me its a great way to minimize the number of keys I have to keep up with and the price of the padlocks was very economical.
