Kwikset lever handle wont lock by the button

My electronic door lock failed to open and locked me out of my house. Keybad had no sound and key would not work.i had to have locksmith come and drill lock off door.

Defective parts doorknob stop locking and unlocking. Tried to use back door and could not unlock to get out of house.

I was locked out of my house for 4 hrs. Went to Lowes and purchased the lock. I hv never put a lock on before and I was frustratingly stuck. Although I got several follow up emails after I reached out-I ended up watching a man on you tube assemble the lock. Worked out.

Lock stopped working, misled by customer service.

I bought a 955 Kwikset SmartCode Lock which was easy install and allowed me to walk my dog without having to take my house keys with me. Well it worked for about 2 months. When I got back from walking my dog today, the Kwikset light was red and none of the buttons worked. I called the Kwikset customer service center and was told to call a locksmith and that they would reimburse the cost for the locksmith. I called back once I was able to get inside my house since I had not received the email yet and this time was told, they would not be reimbursing the locksmith fee but that if the lock was damaged in the process of opening the door, they would send me a new lock since it's still under warranty. You mean, another lock that will stop working in less than 2 months?? No thanks! I will gladly pay more for a Schlage from now on.
